Dr. Joseph Forkey brings over thirty years of experience in inter-disciplinary optical technology in the medical device and defense / aerospace markets in both academic and industrial settings. Joe is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the company and ensuring that appropriate resources are available and properly deployed to achieve corporate goals.
Joining POC in 2003, Joe took over as CEO in 2011 and has built and led a highly competent team of technology, business, and manufacturing experts to achieve significant company growth through increased customer engagement and targeted acquisitions. He continues to be engaged in understanding advances in optical and imaging technologies and commercial market dynamics to pursue strategic partnerships and to translate new technical opportunities into next-generation products that enable advanced customer requirements and business growth.
Wayne Coll is Precision Optics Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer, with a career spanning more than 30 years. Wayne is an experienced public company CFO, with extensive experience driving business models of medical device manufacturing companies, executing strategic M&A activities, and managing access to capital markets.
Prior to Precision Optics Corporation, Wayne served as CFO at Flowonix Medical Incorporated. Prior to Flowonix, he was CFO at Micron Solutions, a publicly traded medical devices and contract manufacturer from; Keystone Dental, a manufacturer of dental implants; Modern Dental Laboratory USA, a division of Modern Dental Group Ltd; Pluromed, a medical device company acquired by Genzyme/Sanofi; and National Dentex Corporation, a publicly traded dental laboratory where he spent over 20 years in a variety of senior finance roles including the last 5 years as CFO.
Joseph Traut was appointed Chief Operating Officer effective October 1, 2025. He brings more than 20 years of experience leading manufacturing, operations, and technology transfer initiatives within the medical device and diagnostics industries.
Most recently, Mr. Traut served as Vice President of Operations at T2 Biosystems, where he led manufacturing strategy and operational execution for innovative diagnostic platforms. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Technology Transfer at LumiraDx, overseeing the transfer of complex technologies into scalable global manufacturing environments.
From 2017 to 2021, Mr. Traut served as Vice President of Manufacturing Solutions at Ximedica, now part of Veranex. In this role, he partnered with medical technology companies to industrialize products, strengthen supply chains, and prepare organizations for commercialization and growth.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Traut held progressive leadership roles in manufacturing engineering and operations management, building expertise in process optimization, cross-functional execution, and regulated production environments.
Mr. Traut holds an MBA in Management of Technology from Bentley University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University.
Peter Thier serves as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Precision Optics Corporation, leading the company’s global growth strategy, business development, and marketing efforts across medical, life sciences, defense, industrial, and advanced technology markets.
With more than three decades of experience in technology commercialization and innovation-driven growth, Peter has built a career helping organizations transform breakthrough ideas into successful products and businesses. His background spans medical devices, diagnostics, imaging systems, industrial technologies, consumer products, and defense applications. Before joining Precision Optics, he held executive leadership roles with several leading product development and technology consulting firms, helping clients worldwide accelerate innovation and market success.

Adam Young is an innovative engineering executive with nearly 30 years of experience leading complex product development and manufacturing operations across the automotive, medical device, robotics, imaging, and technology industries. He combines creative problem-solving, strategic vision, a strong commitment to quality, and disciplined execution to build strong, collaborative team cultures, lead manufacturing and product development organizations, and advance high-stakes programs from concept through commercialization.
Adam has held leadership roles at Lumicell, Third Pole Therapeutics, Cognex, and Corindus Vascular Robotics, along with technical leadership positions at DOTS Technology, Aspect Medical/Covidien, Insulet, and Pollak Engineered Products. A Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and inventor with multiple patents and patent applications, Adam holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University.
Paul Bonomi serves as Senior Director of Operations at Precision Optics Corporation, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience across the medical device, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, OTC drug, and commercial products industries. Throughout his career, he has focused on scaling operations, strengthening supply chains, improving organizational performance, and building out high-performing teams.
Paul has led ERP implementations, LEAN transformations, operational scale-ups, and end-to-end supply chain development, driving improvements in customer service, quality, efficiency, and business performance. His collaborative, hands-on leadership style emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.
Prior to joining Precision Optics Corporation, Paul held leadership positions at T2 Biosystems, Akoya Biosciences, Xact Robotics, and Corin Group. His experience spans the manufacturing and commercialization of in-vitro diagnostic instruments and reagents, navigation and robotic medical systems, orthopedic implants for total knee and total hip replacement, and surgical instrumentation. Paul has a background in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University.
Katira Collins is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with over 15 years of experience across the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, labor law compliance, and training and development. She brings a strong track record of supporting both employees and leadership in fast-paced, multi-site manufacturing and service environments.
Prior to joining the company, Katira served as Senior HR Generalist at Ajinomoto Cambrooke and Arch Promo Group, where she managed full-cycle recruiting, multi-state payroll, and compliance programs across multiple locations. Earlier, she spent over 12 years at Cold Chain Technologies as HR Coordinator and Payroll Administrator, supporting more than 300 employees across facilities in Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Nevada. Throughout her career, she has developed a reputation for building sound HR processes, maintaining rigorous compliance standards, and fostering positive workplace cultures.
Richard Cyr’s 40 years of optics experience contributes to his outstanding ability to manage the optics laboratory at Precision Optics Corporation. He oversees all Optics Lab inquiries and provides superior technical assistance to customers.
Before joining the Precision Optics’ team in 1995, Richard’s optics expertise led him to work on history-making projects. His experiences include the Hubble Space Telescope repair mission and contributions to the Star Wars program and the National Ignition Facility – to name just a few.
